The First H2 Fuelling Nozzle with Exchangeable Data Interface

WEH has broadened its extensive range of H2 fuelling nozzles for 700 bar technology by adding a new fuelling nozzle for single-handed operation. This new nozzle is equipped with an exchangeable data interface (ENR - Exchangeable Nozzle Receiver).

In addition to the proven features of the well known WEH® TK17 H2 series, the new TK17 H2 70 MPa ENR provides these new advantages:

  • Easy on-site replacement of the data interface
  • Reduced repair costs
  • Significant reduction of downtimes
  • Increased safety for operators thanks to the use of a rubber sleeve

The IR data interface is located in the front of the fuelling nozzle to create direct communication between the vehicle and the fuelling station and so achieve an optimum filling level. In the past complete fuelling nozzles had to be sent in for repair in cases of damage or malfunction of the data interface. However with the new version of the TK17 H2 70 MPa ENR this data interface can now be quickly and easily exchanged in situ by specially trained personnel. The result is shorter downtimes by avoiding the need to return faulty nozzles to the manufacturer.

The rubber sleeve now offers optimal protection, not only by cushioning the vehicle and front end of the fuelling nozzle against impact damage and weathering, but also for the operator against the freezing temperatures intrinsic to an H2 operating environment. The TK 17 H2 70 MPa ENR has a high electrical conductivity facilitating electrostatic discharge. The following outstanding safety features offer increased safety for the operator:

  • Thermal protection against the freezing temperatures intrinsic to an H2 operating environment that is provided by the rubber sleeve
  • Coding specifically for its predetermined pressure range and gas type to avoid mistaken use for CNG vehicles or different pressure ranges
  • Safe connection - protection against detachment under pressurized condition

Besides various accessories such as high pressure filling hoses or dispenser mountings, the nozzle receiver is exchangeable and also available as a spare part.

WEH offers a wide-ranging product line for hydrogen refuelling systems - from components for service-stations like fuelling nozzles, breakaway couplings, filling hoses and filters to receptacles and check valves for cars, busses and trucks.Of course WEH also offers the same components for CNG refuelling.
